Photo Dump

It has been some time since my last post. I cant believe it is April already and the year is just flying by.

We filed our taxes early this year and made a list of the things we wanted/needed. One of the things we wanted/needed was a new vacuum. Our old vacuum was a wedding gift and it was okay but not too powerful and had served its life well. We bought a Dyson and we really like it, I know if has gotten us vacuuming more, and when I say us, I mean me.

A few months ago Karl sent me a link to The O Run, a 4 mile obstacle course. Onna, Karl, MaryEllen and I made up a team and we even had matching tie dye shirts. It was fun and exhausting, I was definitely dead at the end.

The week after the O run was the Cooper River Bridge run. We have seen this every year and I have always wanted to do it but couldnt get MaryEllen to join me. Her friend from Utah, Jenny caught wind of the run and asked Ellen if she'd like to run it with her, and wouldnt you know it? Of course she would!
My parents came to town to do the run as well. We got together with 40,000 of our closest friends and ran the 6k. It was fun and a good experience and my knees hurt for 2 days after.

This is why MaryEllen always wears long sleeves, jk. Some people like to dress crazy and have a good time, one guy pushed his friend the whole way in a shopping cart with a pirate flag attached to it.

Jenny from Utah enjoying the water. I enjoy my head coming out of MaryEllen's shoulder.

Our first night in Utah it snowed as we came out of the Salt Lake temple. The snow reminded us of dipping dots. The temple was cool too and about 17 times larger than Columbia.

We drove by a mexican restaurant that instantly caught our eye. It reminded us of Filibertos from Mesa. The food was identical to Fili's and incredible, needless to say we gorged ourselves.

We were glad to meet up with some friends in Salt Lake, they picked us up downtown and we went to Cafe Rio. Their daughter was in the back seat sleeping and woke up to see Ellen and I, I cant remember seeing a more confused face. It was good to see them and have a great meal with them before they move on to the Gem State.

One morning we went on a "temple tour". I planned out 6 temples to drive around and see. It was fun to be able to drive down the road and see all sorts of chapels and temples. We saw Mt. Timpanogas, Draper, Jordan River, Bountiful, Oquirh Mountain and Salt Lake. Above is the Oquirh Mountain temple.

On Sunday we went up to Ensign peak just north of the city. We started the hike with 8 in our group and ended with 3. Christian, Karl and I ascended the peak and were rewarded with a great view of the whole valley. The climb was too hard but the air was noticeably thinner than I am used to at sea level and there was a lot of mud.

The trip was really fun and busy. The southern crew flew home on the red eye. That was not a lot of fun. I was so tired all day on Monday and going back to work on Tuesday was miserable being so tired. While we were gone, a tornado hit inside our condo, or at least it looked like it. Such a mess.

I just planted some vegetables for the summer, 10 tomatoes (from seed) 2 okra and one eggplant. I am excited to see how they all do.
